The Abigail Adams Smith Auditorium and the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum and Garden are available for rent for weddings, corporate functions and special celebrations.  The spaces are flexible and can accommodate a variety of special events. If you are planning a small party or reception, why not consider the unique space that the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum offers. For a larger group of 50 people or more, the Abigail Adams Smith Auditorium is an ideal space.

Auditorium Completely Renovated

The elegant Abigail Adams Smith Auditorium and Museum Garden are available for rent for weddings and special celebrations. This event and meeting space with a brick and stone facade at 417 East 61st Street, offers an auditorium with 2,352 square feet of open space with hardwood floors that can accommodate from 50 to 180 persons, depending upon the set up. Auditorium-style seating can accommodate up to 180. For a seated dinner, the maximum is 120. The facility has a distinctive 13’ x 20’ lobby, an attached kitchen, service entrance, two restrooms, and two coat rooms - all completely renovated. Outside space is available for rent in the adjacent Garden.

Basic Fees:

  • Auditorium rental for 4 hours $1,800 (Additional hourly rates apply)

  • Auditorium rental for registered not-for-profit organizations $800

  • Museum Garden rental $1,000

  • Piano, chairs, and tables are available for rental on a per piece basis.

The Museum's historic period rooms and 19th-century-landscaped gardens featuring the Museum's new gazebo are available for rental to groups of no more than 50 people for meetings, conferences, cocktail receptions, small weddings, showers, birthday parties, and afternoon teas.

As the Museum is a landmarked building and regularly open to the public, certain restrictions apply to the use of the site.

Basic Fees

Museum rental varies according to event.  Use of museum garden included in rental fee.

  • Use of tables and chairs $100

  • Cleaning fee $100

  • Private Museum Tour for groups $100
